Vaginoplasty

Vaginal tightening surgery, also known as vaginoplasty or vaginal aesthetic surgery, is a surgical operation that reshapes and tightens the vaginal muscles, perineum and other tissues in the vaginal area, which are loose for various reasons. Basically, it is performed to correct the loosening or widening of the vaginal walls and muscles. Women may want to have vaginal tightening surgery when they feel physically uncomfortable or negatively affected during sexual intercourse.

In what cases is vaginal aesthetics performed?

Vaginal enlargement, which has become one of the biggest problems of women as they get older, can be solved with surgery. Vaginal tightening surgery eliminates this problem and erases the deformations from the body. In general, it can be said that the vaginal tightening operation was performed due to the deterioration of sexual functions. People experience loss of concentration due to the sound coming from the vagina during intercourse, and this means that couples become alienated from each other.

Vaginal enlargement does not only affect sexual life. It also causes infections in the vagina. Research shows that women with width problems have more infection problems in their vaginas. Therefore, this situation can also be considered a reason for surgery.

How long does vaginal aesthetic surgery take?

Vaginal tightening surgery is not a long-lasting surgery as it is thought. The entire process is completed in approximately 1 to 2 hours and the person's vagina is narrowed to the desired size. After the operation, the person is kept under observation for one night and taken under the supervision of a doctor. The next day, your doctor will start the discharge procedures if there are no problems. In this context, the entire process is completed within two days.

How is vaginal aesthetic surgery performed?

Vaginoplasty surgery is performed by a specialist gynecologist or urogynecologist and includes the following steps:

  • Anesthesia: The surgery is usually performed under local anesthesia (numbing only the surgery area) or general anesthesia (putting the patient to sleep). Anesthesia ensures that the surgery is painless and comfortable.
  • Incisions: In vaginoplasty surgery, incisions are made in the area between the vaginal lips (labium majus and labium minus) or near the entrance of the vagina, where stitches will be placed on the vaginal walls. Depending on the situation required, tissue can be removed by laser vaginal tightening.
  • Removal and correction of tissues: If there is loose or excess tissue on the vaginal walls, these tissues are removed. It is then corrected with stitches to tighten the vaginal walls and muscles.
  • Stitches: The stitches used during vaginoplasty are dissolvable and do not need to be removed afterwards. Stitches are placed carefully to tighten the vaginal tissue and allow it to heal properly.
  • Healing process: During the post-operative recovery process, the patient must keep the surgical area clean and dry and follow the instructions recommended by the doctor. In the postoperative period, physical activities may be restricted and sexual intercourse may need to be avoided for a while. The recovery process varies depending on the person's body structure and the complexity of the surgery.
